Especially the ones where I don’t even give a paw for the virtual pat on the head. You’d think with all the love and attention I get from my folks I wouldn’t need that reassurance, but I do. Truth be told, I’m still an insecure little pup at heart.

That’s why I have to woof out a big thanks to all the folks out there that have written great reviews for my book. Woof, Woof! (Go ahead, put that in the Google Translate tool. Or if you don’t want to go to the trouble I’ll give you the answer: it says Thank You!!)

So imagine how happy I was to see a recent review by Dogtipper.com book reviewers Paris Permenter and John Bigley giving my book a few paws up. Well, not just a few, all of them. Heck, it even managed to hit the NY Daily News online version.

Bad to the Bone; Memoir of a Rebel Doggie Blogger is the “autobiography” of  lovable canine Bo. No, not that Bo, not First Dog Portuguese Water Dog Bo that lives in the White House. This Bo is a former shelter dog, a retriever-chow mix who lives in Georgia with his parents, dog-sidekick Copper, and Moose, the cat. Having reached the age of 16, Bo looks back on his life with precision, insight, and most of all, witty, sarcastic humor. The book is simply one of the funniest I’ve ever read. (emphasis mine)

Paris and John, have authored over two dozen books for publishers ranging from Random House to Globe Pequot; their dog articles have ranged from first-person pieces about a dachshund for Reader’s Digest to how-to articles for outdoor magazines about photographing dogs.

These two are probably the smartest humans I know. That’s right behind dogs, pigs and parrots on the intelligence food chain.

Not bad, not bad at all.

I know I used to, but frankly now I just make sure my hip doesn’t stand out in the crowd…because if it gets bumped, it hurts.

It turns out I don’t have to worry about life passing me by because my memoir just made an appearance on PetMd’s Haute or not? blog.

The greatest dog book ever written by a dog gets a woof-out from dogasaur.com today. The site helps folks to find dogs, make friends and find out about dog products. It’s an informative destination on the intertubes.

Plus, they have great taste as shown by their opinion of Bad to the Bone: Memoir of a Rebel Doggie Blogger. This tome scores a 10 out of 10 in ‘Woofiness’ and ‘Off-Leashness’ according to the literary experts on the site.

In case you think Bo is just another dog that won’t stop talking about all the cutsie things that have happened to him, you can breathe a huge sigh of relief right now, because from the outset, Bo lets readers know he was the subject of a “revenge adoption.”  That Bo is a dog with a dark side is confirmed in the chapter Enema of the State.

Needless to woof, but Bo loves his Modern Dog Magazine!!

This Sunday, December 6th, we’ll be doing a book signing to support one of our favorite charities, Daffy’s Pet Soup Kitchen.  Daffy’s is dedicated to keeping families and their pets together and has made a huge impact in so many lives.

Featured on Times Square’s jumbotron, my lovely mug was on display for all New Yorkers to see…well for a few seconds anyway.

My father thinks he’s being worldly when he says this about New York, “Bo, if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.”

Surely he knows that not only did I make it New York but I’ve been making it in Georgia too. All he needs to do is walk in the backyard and step in some of my recent work for confirmation.

Now if I could just get him to drive me to Rockefeller Plaza to pee on that big tree, all my dreams will be fulfilled.
